Death of Me

feeling alone in a crowded room and then I found you two people hand and hand fighting the powers that be A lone flame become stronger, you are my one and only, the light at the end of my tunnel, and I hope you'll be the death of me

Chaos in order (variation)

Chaos in order Order, in a way, is only the patterns we recognise. Perhaps chaos is in order, yet we do not fully realise. Human mind, ever analytical, to show what's nominal and familiar. Distinguished from the strange, deviating and peculiar. The best of reasons sought for, indeed, beauty and spontaneity. Described, most accurately and uniquely, for the beholders’ eye to see. Chaos, defined by its antonym, revealing our very ignorance. When things are not in order, unintended and with innocence. Not fitting our minds' desire, or as we think how they should be. The exception proving the rule, or does it, the contrary? Edited and written by Piezometric Poetry on 28-10-2023 Poem artwork:

Cause and a fact

Cause and a fact Knowing the cause, doesn’t change the fact. Except in future perchance, when actions have impact. In a time past present moment, that allows to alter the conclusion. And prior knowledge provided, can enter into the solution. Edited and written by Piezometric Poetry on 13-03-2024 Poem artwork

Sleepless Insomnia (Poem)

Sleepless Insomnia By J.C. Solis The night carries on with such lack of sleep For one cannot reach such sweet dreams so deep For Insomnia bogs me down as so The moon now hovers, causes dreadful woe And this little rest is what I now reap I am, sadly, restless within this night And I, sadly, wait till the dawn of light As my mind cannot find beautiful rest I await this sleepless sorrow For now, I await the coming of sleep Beneath my blankets, wrapped in heaps And my exhausted eyes, their red does show And this sleepless curse, its wrath I now know I’m awake till my alarm starts to beep I await the coming sorrow This is My Insomnia, through and through Such a terrible state that makes me rue The Sun now rises, the night is now dead As I lay in shambles atop my bed And there is just nothing that I can do And with this New Day that now lay ahead I slumber in day, and so put down my head And there is just nothing that I can do I await the sleepless sorrow…

No Such Thing As Forever

I know there's no such thing as forever. Intimately I have it carved into my heart flecks of scars line my soul, deep in my veins. Yet I treasure every single moment, every laugh, every smile I give you. I could never give you enough, tiny paper scraps I offer, and you take them so delicately. You help me breathe when I forget who I am. You bring me back to Earth when I go to float away. I know we're not eternal. But it doesn't matter. All I can promise you is this moment, and it's all you can promise me back. That's enough. It was always enough.

Simplicity of Life

The beaver builds her dam with skill and care, Creating a home where her family can thrive, The lion has its den where it can roam, A place of peace where it can rest and be free, The robin makes her nest in a tree so high, A safe haven for her young to grow and fly. Bees live in hives, buzzing with life, Working together to keep their home secure, The bear retires to its cave, a place of solitude, Where it can hibernate through the long, cold nights, Gophers, rabbits, and moles all find solace, In the safety of their holes, hidden from the world. All creatures have families they hold dear, A place they feel is home, a sanctuary of sorts, The animals of the forest, simple and true, Do not claim to have a soul or need a higher power, They live in harmony, without greed or envy, Content with the life they have been given. They do not strive to be admired or adored, Nor do they seek to be superior to one another, They do not change themselves to fit societal norms, Or seek validation

The Alchemist

Yours is a stupefying talent honed Transforming love galore to eldritch founts With every valiant virtue all dethroned And you entrenched atop the gory mounts Grotesque abominations sink their teeth in; flay my mind and leave infected scars Of hatred, anger, self-detest beneath; By blood and tears and tissue tainted memoirs This gruesome dance macabre never ends While you are perched upon your throne of gold Your potent magic my love’s essence bends As you command to firm the blighted hold Are you content extinguishing one’s fire To taint and watch one drowning in one’s mire?

The Oyster

As in the salty shallows of the sea The oyster makes a home, and there it clings To battered rocks where a child's eye may see A mermaid who lies in the sun and sings, And when a grain of sand or some such piece Of foreign matter makes its painful way Into its shell and interrupts its peace A pearl will surely see the light of day, So does the poet, when a feeling makes Its way into the softness of her heart, Put words in careful layers on her aches, And though she suffers, she gives birth to art,     So that in time she may select the best     And make a necklace to adorn her breast.

Sonnet 1 - The deceiving

You say that you are reprieving, To bring at last relief. I say that you're deceiving, To string along the grief. Many come and many go, Some are young and some are old. They pull you down into the flow, Causing you to act so bold. And now it comes your criticized, Fingers point and sticks are thrown. This time you feel demoralized, Control so tight and sneer from thrones. So take that door which resembles pain, Before you know it you will live again.

Twenty years

Twenty years 10 million minutes, in 7 thousand and 300 days. That’s a lot of moments, no matter what anyone says. Months 240, with seven quarter, hundred thousand hours. In that time you gained, All these skills and powers. Forty plus one thousand, Weeks of seven long. Ever moving forward, Reminiscing with a song. Two decades and four lustrums, Reason to celebrate per tradition. Yet on a day-to-day basis, One doesn’t notice the transition. Edited and written by Piezometric Poetry on 11-10-2023

Your Friendly Neighborhood Witch

If I were blessed with power in my veins To make and to destroy as I see fit, Then rest assured that I would take great pains To find a quiet place where I can sit And gather every trace that I can find Of arcane knowledge, so that bit by bit In blissful solitude I'd be enshrined, With everything I need just within reach In my small nest that's just as I designed, In the sole company of scrolls that teach The secrets of an art that men forgot As one by one they followed those who preach: “There's no such thing as magic, and you ought To strive for progress and dismiss those lies, For spells and all that nonsense are for naught.̶

What was that again?

The feeling of tender lips that gently touch each other And hands that softly glide over bodies Laughing and crying together Loving embraces All in memory Faded, forgotten The feeling of a tender kiss And hands that softly glide over bodies What was that again? Autumn wheeze

Autumn wheeze Sniffing, wheezing, cough galore. In the train you hear it all the more. Far from safe, the travellers be, Also at work, in school, nowhere to flee! Coinciding with chilly autumn breeze. Aerosols flying, propelled with a whirling sneeze. Following a rampantly random trajectory. Uneasy, slimy, your distance, keep it please. Perhaps what I need is: a protective dome. Steer clear of me, or better yet: Work from your comfy home! Edited and written by Piezometric Poetry on 14-10-2022

Come Out, Come Out

Come out, come out and play, they always say, With eager, smiling faces shining bright: It must be sad to live your lonely way. No doubt your world is dull and drab and grey, But if you let us help, we'll bring you light: Come out, come out and play, they always say. Come out, come out, it's fun, don't shy away, For we know best, now don't put up a fight: It must be sad to live your lonely way. The best years of your life, day after day, Are wasted in a dark and endless night: Come out, come out and play, they always say. Come out, come out, we won't lead you astray, We promise, little hermit, we won't bite. It must be sad to live your lonely way. There is but one approved technique that may Achieve the heights of pleasure and delight: Come out, come out and play, they always say, It must be sad to live your lonely way.

For Your Kiss

i lay the braided stars before your precious countenance that you may walk the path of light where gods no longer dwell for we are but a figment of ephemeral affectation reflecting in the tear that wells in worlds wont to forget the season of surrender shall not plunder my resolve to beckon at your call under the restless moon’s fluoresce awakened… stripped and strung in astral flecks that flickered with foreboding the myths depicted in the dithering of days foregone still haunting, as your fragrance wafts into the garden florid waifs found desiccant as wistful sentiments entwine me in an urgent yearning for your kis

stuck in a depressive trance I want to give myself a fighting chance, my final olive branch I'll get up early, take care of my needs, work on my hobbies, do good deeds even let old wounds bleed And when I've been at it a while a beautiful soul living in her own style maybe then I'll crack a smile

Not That Different: Windows and Doors

Sometimes I fall silent. Facing the whiteness of what is yet not, Of the nothing that must be made something, Must be made beauty by me. My weapon of choice - words. The bulding blocks of a new reality. I paint a picture in black and white So that others may see a world of magic. But facing the white, I fall silent sometimes And words fail me And I fail them. I watched others come face to face with the nothing. But they used colors to chase it away. Brandishing delicate lines And confident strokes. I watched windows be opened, Windows to new worlds Frozen in a moment of beauty. And I saw stories hidden Behind every swirl of a line.
